Jeff Spanish (杰夫)

The lessons are super motivating and engaging! The combination of learning new stuff and discovering what I already can by beeing encouraged to tack feels just right. I was actually surprized about beeing able to have a simple conversation with Jeff today - seemed impossible at first : ) And it feels like I'm really getting prepared to my spanisch medical rotation - consistently and step by step. Estoy entusiasmada por las próximas clases!

I have taken a few lessons with Jeff, and he is a wonderful teacher! From the first class he's listened to my needs and interests, and customized lesson plans that are tailored specifically to my goals. The class topics have been very interesting, which encourages me to converse and practice my Spanish even more.

It was super nice to "get involved" in Spanish vers quickly by reading stuff and suggsting what to say in a real life situation. It was also nice to see a structured plan how to move on with learning medical spanisch in the next 6 weeks. All in all a very structured and joyfull lesson.

Jeff ha sido mi profesor de español durante más de un año. Disfruto de sus lecciones y nuestras conversaciones. Con su instrucción, he mejorado constantemente mis habilidades en español y mi confianza para hablar. Lo que realmente valoro es la flexibilidad de Jeff en sus planes de lecciones conmigo. Jeff has been my Spanish teacher for well over a year. I enjoy his lessons and our conversations. With his instruction, I have steadily improved my Spanish skills and my speaking confidence. What I really value is Jeff’s flexibility in his lesson plans with me.

I thought that Jeff was very organized and clearly knows a lot about how to teach languages, with many. years of experience to back it up. We started with a course he designed to teach medical Spanish, but I felt like it was not customized to my level or needs. For example, I am an advanced learner wanting to practice conversation, but instead we spent a lot of time reviewing ser vs estar which I have a good grasp on. Additionally, I did not speak very much during the lesson and when I did primarily was reading off a slide. It felt a little like doing a lesson with an app, just with a person there as well. I think this approach could have some utility for beginners, but it was not suited for upper intermediate to advanced learners.

Great trial class! Very friendly and educational as well as organized!
