My name is Șochichiu Rodica Mariana (née Danciu). I was born in Romania and I left for Moscow when I was eighteen, where I studied philology at Lomonosov Moscow State University. For many years I lived in Russia, Italy, Germany and South Korea. I have a keen interest in literature, cinema, music and photography. In addition to my native Romanian, I am fluent in Russian, Italian and English, and I enjoy comparing languages and finding the origins of words.Ja jako nauczyciel
As a teacher, one of my priorities is adapting to my student's needs and helping them to discover the joy of learning. I start by getting to know them, noticing what grabs their attention, understanding their goals and creating together a customized study plan.
I seek to make the learning experience also serve as a cultural bridge by a mutual sharing of cultural knowledge. Knowing the cultural context of the target language helps maintain interest and informs appropriate usage, while learning to talk about one's own culture in a new language is also immensly beneficial and allows the learner to tie the newly acquired language to their own experience and sharing them with new friends. One of my preferred approaches is based on the Facilitator method, creating an interactive and enjoyable context where the student may feel as if they are on a personal journey of discovery rather than merely being taught information. When studying a text, I encourage them to find by themselves the meanings of words that have cognates in the languages they already know and enjoy a sense of achievement and of realization that they can already figure out a great deal of the target language without having studied it beforehand! I also incorporate the natural approach and I a ready to employ a Hybrid method or a more traditionalist approach when appropriate.5.0

The class was great. We continued to worked through some basic grammar points to try to see where exactly in at. Rodica uses primarily Romanian during the entirety of the lesson (only switching to English when I can’t understand at all), which is wonderful.
Towards the end of class, she pulled out a poem by Eminescu for us to work through. I greatly enjoyed the lesson and look forward to more. Mulțumesc frumos, Rodica! Pe curând!

Not completely satisfied. The lesson was quick but a little bit messy and chaotic. I think she’s a good teacher just was the worse moment to do the lesson
