I come from Scotland and am a native English speaker. I have a CELTA teaching qualification and have experience teaching students from many countries. I am also an intermediate German learner and have significant experience using Italki as a learner. I love discussing a wide variety of topics and can't wait to help you with your learning journey. I have a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree with Distinction in Fine Art. Currently, I study Civil and Environmental Engineering (BEng). I am passionate about making learning fun, engaging and sustainable.
My lessons are a supportive environment, where students can gain confidence in their English language skills. I am friendly, approachable and a good conversationalist. I believe it is important to develop different teaching techniques for each student. As a language learner, I understand the importance of keeping lessons interesting and I am always developing new ways of learning.
In our lessons, I like to give students the choice of how structured or relaxed they want the class to be. I can provide classes where we work on grammar, vocabulary, and skills like reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Alternatively, we can simply have a casual conversation while I give you corrections. CELTA - Dundee and Angus College - 2023Cambridge English Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I had the opportunity to teach large classes of multilingual ESOL students, while attaining my language teaching accreditation. I attended 60 hours of seminars, completed 50 hours of teaching practice, 80 hours on individual learning and 6 hours of assessed teaching.
