I was fortunate enough to start my career as a social worker, teaching adults as well as children and adolescents with special needs and disabilities in Australia, England, France and New Zealand. I have worked within various organizations such as (international) schools, ‘living & working in homes’, language institutes and activity centers for people with special needs. Over the past eight years, I have tenaciously continued to study and progress in order to fulfill my career dream and become a language teacher. As a result of the varied positions of which I have held, I have developed a diverse range of knowledge and methodologies, which helped me to further enhance my skills as a language tutor. I have also been teaching at several independent business institutes, which permitted me to acquire valuable experience in the teaching field. I am convinced that I am able to help you with either of these beautiful languages. My teachings style depends on the student I am teaching but in general I would say that I am a good listener, always well-prepared and ready to correct my student when needed. You will be the protagonist :) During a 60-minute-lesson we will have a 5 minute break. CLASSES CANCELLATION/ REBOOKING : Please understand that, if you cannot attend a lesson you need to reschedule the class as soon as possible (italki doesn't allow the former, when the lesson takes place within 24h, therefore it needs to be done earlier). I really enjoy my lessons with Thomas. He is friendly, patient and helps guide me towards speaking correctly in German. He makes each lesson fun an engaging and it's feels like a safe place to speak in Germany despite the many mistakes that a learner makes. This is a very important thing to feel comfortable to make mistakes and Thomas has been good at making me feel comfortable. His lessons are always well structured, he provide immediate corrections and feedback, and helps push along my understanding of grammar in each lesson.
