Salam, my name is Assala. I am Algerian, PhD in radiation physics and part-time physics teacher at the university. My two mother tongues are Arabic and French, and I also have a good level of English.
I am passionate about physics and science in general. Reading is also one of my great passions. On my social media, I read passages from books in French and Arabic to introduce works that are close to my heart.
I'm also a big fan of series, Korean dramas and anime, which I enjoy watching in my free time.
سلام، اسمي أصالة. أنا جزائرية، حاصلة على دكتوراه في الفيزياء الإشعاعية وأعمل كمعلمة فيزياء بدوام جزئي في الجامعة. لغتي الأم هما العربية والفرنسية، كما أن مستواي في اللغة الإنجليزية جيد.
Ja jako nauczyciel
I am genuinely enthusiastic about teaching, with patience and tolerance essential for a serene learning. I strive to create a dynamic and stimulating environment for my students. I love interacting them, listening and learning from their culture. I teach physics at university in French because higher education in Algeria is taught in this language, I therefore help my students to improve their level of French during our sessions. My experience also extends to online teaching, where I taught French in a fun way to a group of girls aged 8 to 14, using fun exercises and activities. The experience gained has allowed me to develop a patient teaching approach adapted to different levels.

Assala is a gifted instructor who brings a great deal of teaching experience to the table. She converses in a very natural way, notes any pronunciation or grammar errors, and then revisits them at the end of the lesson. She also shares her screen and uses it effectively to review corrections efficiently. As a result, her corrections are memorable because they come directly from our shared conversation.

I appreciate that she is punctual and always comes to class with a clear plan. Today’s lesson focused on pronunciation. She had me read a paragraph, which proved eye-opening because I had thought my accent was not too bad. It ended up taking the entire lesson to get through it.
Several conjugations that should be silent were ones I kept pronouncing aloud, and I was not getting liaison rules right. Even the word "un" was something I kept pronouncing like "une," and the letter "u" in "début" was another sound I was not producing like a native speaker.
I am sure each of these errors would stand out immediately to a native French listener, but I had been unaware of them. By the end of class, my facial muscles were sore because I speak French so infrequently that the muscles needed for its sounds are rarely used. Using them so intensively in one lesson made me feel the physical effort involved.
She's a great teacher.
