Hello, students, my name is Fortunato, you can call me Fortu. I am a licensed ESL teacher from New York City.
-Master’s degree and TESOL certification.
-Over 14 years experience teaching adults, teenagers and children.
-I was born in NY and I am a native English speaker.
-Speak Italian and Spanish at a B2 level (you can ask me questions in Spanish or Italian).
-Taught students from over 20 different countries.
When I’m not teaching, I LOVE football (soccer), languages, traveling and learning about different cultures. I have been to 36 countries so far…maybe I have been to your country! I recently started to learn Portuguese, so I understand the challenges of learning a new language.Ja jako nauczyciel
A big reason I am passionate about teaching English is because my family is from Italy and Argentina; and I live in Queens, NYC 'One of The Most Diverse Places in the World', so I am always around people who are learning English and speaking with different accents. I have helped students from over 20 countries improve their English and I feel confident that I can help you too!

I think it’s important to be a patient and flexible teacher because every person learns in a different way. During our lessons we will practice all aspects of language learning: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing. During our first class we will talk about your goals and do some activities so I can have a better idea about your current English level. After our first lesson, I will choose materials that match your goals. This is important because the classes are YOURS. Whatever your reason for learning English, we will go at your speed and use vocabulary specific to your needs. The goal is for you to speak with confidence, are you ready? I had the opportunity to take an English class with Fortunato, and it was excellent!
The teacher demonstrated a great ability to explain grammatical concepts in a clear and concise manner, adapting to my pace and specific needs.
What I highlight most about the class was the practical exercise he taught me. Through a simple but effective technique, I learned to organize the grammatical structure of sentences in a logical and easy-to-remember way.
