Hi! My name is Yun Xian. I am a Chinese native speaker and a Chinese language teacher with more than 20 years teaching experience after I majored Chinese language and literature in the university. I am qualified with teaching position by Ministry of Education of China with a teacher's qualification license since 2003. I hold a Spoken Chinese Proficiency Certificate from State Language Commission, which is an approval that I speak standard Mandarin without any regional accent. My lessons are fun and designed around the needs and preferences of each individual student. Lessons are based on a communicative approach with the student doing most of the talking. The goal is to develop the student's skills and abilities through guided and open practice with feedback and analysis. Yun Xian‘s Pronunciation Course is probably one of the best Mandarin course's found on italki. Every lesson with Yun is excellent. Her lesson's are challenging and enjoyable. I highly recommend Yun to anyone studying Mandarin regardless of your level of learning!

She is the best teacher I've ever had. She's very professional and she's knowledgeable not only about the language but also about the culture and history of China. She makes learning Chinese interesting and fun, she's always engaging and enthusiastic. With her I'm learning at a much greater pace than I ever thought would be possible.

I had my first lesson with YunXian today. It was really very good. I've been learning Chinese for a long time, but not focusing consistently on reading Chinese just doesn't work, as it is way too easy to forget reading skills. YunXian is my first "professional Chinese Tutor." While the price was a bit higher, I thought the return on investment was very good. I've been using my approach to learning Chinese, but today I let her guide the class and it clearly paid some benefits. Thanks so much, YunXian! I look forward to seeing you again soon!
