I am from the island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean Sea, like the well-known tennis player Rafa Nadal.
In the University I studied History of Art and History, that is why I went abroad with differents exchange programmes in countries like Italy or Chili. Also I had an internship in the Cinema Museum of Torino, Italy.
During these experiences I met so many people from other countries, I discovered many differents cultures and languages. Then I started to be curious in teaching.

I lived also in Berlin, Germany. I went there to learn German, then I realized that I would like to become a teacher. In 2013 I studied in Bilbao a course to be an Spanish teacher for foreigners. After that I started my classes in Munich (Germany) Palma (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic), Granada (Spain), working for private schools, and in Budapest (Hungary) working for the Instituto Cervantes. A bit more than 10 years of experience teaching Spanish.
I have experience in teaching individual students and groups, from A1 to C2. Also the DELE exam preparation. In every country I worked for differents schools but also I started teaching Spanish online with Italki in the year 2018. Moje lekcje & Styl nauczania
My lessons are a combination between grammar and topics. I am trying to explain the things in my native Spanish with a lot of patience in the most simple way. If the student does not understand I can use the English if this can help. But always I try to find the way to express myself. The correction is very important to me, and do not be afraid to make mistakes, this is normal, it is important to make mistakes because that means you are trying to talk. I am a very calm and patience person. I have my own materials, divided in levels when it is grammar class. I teach all of that in a very communicative way.

Joan is an amazing teacher, I'm learning Spanish with him and he's able to correct me and making funny and interesting lesson.
His lesson varies between grammar and normal conversation, he makes a really good mix of the two.
He's really open and warm, he always makes me feel comfortable. I attribute all of my learning and proficiency in Spanish to him.

With his straightforward and adequate explanation, as well as his well-prepared supplementary notes, Joan makes grammar and vocabularies very interesting and easy to learn. Highly recommended!!!

Joan was great! Probably one of the best and USEFUL lessons I've had on italki!
Prior to the class Joan asked me what I was most interested in learning, and he came up with exercises and worksheets tailored to my request. He's very easy to talk to, very understanding and patient, explains things clearly, and challenges you all at the same time.
