Ciao! I'm Annarita, a 37-year-old Italian from Padua.
I hold a Master's degree in Classics and have over 14 years of experience teaching Italian.
I am a certified examiner for CILS and CELI Italian language proficiency exams. I have successfully prepared numerous students for these certifications — all of whom have passed with excellent results. My deep understanding of the exam formats, evaluation criteria, and linguistic requirements allows me to tailor each lesson to ensure optimal performance and confidence on test day. I graduated in Classics from Padua University in 2013 and began my teaching career at a private language school in Padua. Motivated by a strong passion for language education, I chose to specialize further in this field by earning a Master’s degree in Advanced Planning for Teaching Italian to Foreigners, along with the DILS-PG II Level certification.
My experience includes working as a contract professor for the University for Foreigners of Perugia and teaching at the European Institute of Design in Milan. I have also taught business Italian to professionals at companies such as Decathlon and UniCredit Bank.

Thanks to a structured yet flexible teaching method—refined through years of hands-on experience—I’m able to guarantee measurable progress and excellent outcomes, both in language acquisition and exam success.
Therefore I have decided to focus exclusively on students at the upper intermediate or advanced level who want to improve their language skills or get ready for a proficiency exam.
Why? Because this is what I do best.

I have been taking lessons with Professor Saggion for two years now. This has been the best language learning experience that I’ve had. When I started, I had taken a semester of Italian at my old university, but I was very rusty and only able to say about three different things. Now, I’m able to speak Italian and express myself in the language in a way that has never happened for me before. I’m a PhD student studying opera so it’s very important to me to cover music as well, and she found books that would incorporate opera into our lessons. I really recommend this teacher if you want to reach your language learning goals in a professional and motivational environment!

Annarita is the best teacher ever! She is diligent, encouraging and responsive, with high standards and a joyful passion for Italian culture that makes every lesson a pleasure. After starting my lessons as a total beginner with her, I’m now ready to take the CILS B1 Cittadinanza exam. I can also speak with my Italian friends, enjoy Italian cinema and literature, and follow Italian current affairs, and I’m motivated to continue learning far beyond the exam. On our journey together, through her amazing teaching, Annarita has given me a thorough grounding in the language, but she has also given me so much more: the gift of being able to experience Italian culture to the full. I always have many questions about forming proper sentences in Italian. Annarita always does an excellent job explaining the grammar to me and explaining the proper word choices to use for different situations.
