José is an awesome teacher. He's very informative and has a lot of material that he has readily available from his experience teaching. He has documents that lay out and explain exactly what I'm trying to work out in my head, which is super helpful. He's also very easy to talk to, so whether the lesson is more conversational or if you have certain questions about the language, José can walk you through it.

Highly recommend Zé as he is not only a patient teacher, but also encouraging and has interesting materials, information and personal anecdotes that he shares during lessons that allow you to learn more about Portugal and about himself as a Portuguese citizen. He offers a healthy balance of speaking and listening, and I like going over our chat notes to reinforce what I learned. He also speaks clearly (at what seems like) his natural pace which is not too fast. I feel comfortable interrupting him to ask him to repeat words or phrases that I did not understand, and he clarifies them on the chat box. He also pays attention to your pronunciation which is so important in learning this difficult language! Obrigada, Zé.

Fun, effective, interesting, and very enjoyable lesson. We talked about the regional differences in dialect and accent and I got to learn many expressions. Every time I get to know so many interesting things about the country and language. We solved my doubts in grammar and expression. I receive material to learn more about the things we talked about. Zé is just the best teacher!

This was an introductory lesson that was to see how we can work with each other. José is a calm, knowledgeable and friendly person who asks good questand builds good rapport. I hope we get to build a good relationship on my language learning journey.
