As I talked on my PV above, I have studied history of philosophy, which means I am interested in a variety of topics. However, the topics I am most comfortable at speaking about (besides grammar) are the following: 17th Century Philosophy, Descartes, Aristotle, Leibniz Kant; medicinal cannibalism, philosophy of witchcraft, the Haitian zombies (anthropology), Ninja science, Yōkai Phenomena in early modern Japan.
I am also interested in discussing about movies, anime, books, politics and history in general.Ja jako nauczyciel
I have always been interested in teaching and my first part time job after graduating from high school was an English teacher at a cram school. Since then, I fell in love with learning with the students through teaching and cultivating curiosities and experiencing the joy of discovering. I am studying to become a professor/researcher at a university now. So my passion for teaching has always existed and I am pleasantly surprised by students in lessons because I learn a lot from them as much as they (hopefully) learn from me. My lesson style is best described as a semi-formal university lecture - by that, I mean we can either start informally by discussing various topics to further both the use and understanding of grammar while engaging in meaningful conversations. As you may see, I am primarily interested in teaching in English (so my target students are English speakers) as this serves me to have a good experience to help me further my career as a teacher. I also teach Japanese for people who are beginners rather than someone already fluent. Lessons are customized for each student and we will discuss bout where we want to go in lessons together. I've taken many courses with Issei, and I can say that he is a tutor with strong beliefs. His courses provide a great opportunity to deeply understand social insight, sub-culture and history of Japan, which is very inspirational and beyond exam-oriented content. The teaching methods are flexible and designed for each student, supported by the reading list and other materials depending on the topic. His commitment to education could be the enlightenment of language and culture.
Also, he is good at brewing coffee. ☕️

Wow! Just wow! Such a professional, enthusiastic and experienced teacher is really rare to find! New to italki, but he has a vast experience of teaching on-line - and it shows. :)
Moreover - he lived in Canada for a long time, his English is perfect and he understands both cultures completely. It says here he is a "community tutor" but, well, it must be just a matter of time until he get the professional badge - and raises the prices! ;) So - don't think twice - Issei is the best teacher for you - and for anyone! :)

Everything was well explained. I like learning why things are the way they are when studying a new language. Understanding the reasons behind how something is used helps me retain the knowledge.

Issei was recommended to me by a friend who knew someone who was super satisfied with Issei as his teacher. Already after my trail lesson I could totally understand why. Issei is an amazing teacher in every way. He is patient, supportive, motivating, ready to help at any time, also outside the lesson time, and just incredibly passionate about his job as a teacher. You can really see that he is teaching because he loves to help others learn or improve their Japanese and to meet new people. He is such lovely person and I am so happy I found Issei on Italki. I am so looking forward to my Japanese learning journey with him as my teacher :)
