At 100+ lessons I think I should say again (and even more strongly) Becky is one of the best teachers I've ever had of any subject I’ve ever studied. It's been inspiring, as a teacher myself, to get to be on the receiving end of someone having the teaching artistry to balance fun with rigor, speaking and listening with reading and writing, encouragement with correction, and all those balances teachers have to hope we hit right. I cannot overstate my gratitude for having lucked into finding this teacher.

Becky is supportive and encouraging, always very well prepared for the class. She explains various grammar points thoroughly with plenty of examples. Videos, songs, drawings, and pictures are frequently used. She also prepares lots of material herself to make sure you understand everything. And of course, during class, Chinese is used as much as possible, your pronunciation is corrected as you speak... Becky is easygoing and easy to talk to, really committed to helping her students to improve. Her well-organized classes are challenging enough but not too demanding. Becky is a professional teacher, and I can't recommend her classes enough!

Becky is an excellent teacher. As a non-English speaker like me, it may be challenging to tackle various grammar points without any problems. But, again, Becky's experience comes into help. She has bunches of material (pictures, videos, drawings, tasks, etc.) to guide me through multiple grammar points. And last but not least, we'll constantly review and practice newly learned topics long enough to see if I got everything. Becky, a professional teacher, always keeps correcting mistakes and explaining how to build up the sentence structure correctly. In addition, she always answers my questions thoroughly and searches for additional material as needed. Also, if you through her a joke, you might get one back with a grin on her face. I am lucky I found Becky as my teacher. I am looking forward to my next class.

I strongly recommend Becky Laoshi to anyone who is serious about improving their Chinese. She is very qualified and experienced, so you will have a trained professional helping you with your grammar, pronunciation, word usage, etc. Also, she is very skilled at adjusting her vocabulary based on your current level, which is HUGE for getting quality listening and speaking practice. I have been studying HSK curriculum for a while, but I was lacking enough opportunities to actually speak. Since I have been taking classes with her, my oral Chinese has improved immensely and I can communicate with Chinese people much more smoothly than before. Becky Laoshi is also a very caring and supportive teacher, and her sense of humor helps to make the learning environment feel very comfortable and relaxed. She always comes to class prepared with personalized content for me, and even on days off from class she will send interesting videos to help heighten my understanding of the language or culture.

Becky continues to be an amazing teacher. Having taken more than 200 lessons with her now, I can honestly say there hasn’t been a single one that wasn’t engaging, effective, well-paced, and with the right balance of challenge and success. I am a teacher, and I know how hard it is to keep students in that zone between too easy and too overwhelming, and Becky consistently does it brilliantly, with a variety of materials, methods, and resources. I look forward to every lesson. I’ve learned so much Chinese, and also so much about Chinese culture. Highly recommend.
