My lessons are based on the Comprehensible Input (CI) approach. There are no textbooks, flashcards, or grammar drills, only stories and topics you enjoy. To get the most out of our lessons, I encourage you to listen to lots of Chinese outside of class, such as stories or conversations you can understand. I’ve been teaching both Chinese and English as foreign languages for the past four years. I also create easy Chinese videos for learners, as I believe in the power of listening and comprehensible input. I may not be the right fit if your goal is to prepare for exams, but if you’d like to build confidence and communicate in Chinese, I’d love to help you get there! Jessica is a wonderful conversation tutor! I have booked many lessons with her, and our conversations have been so helpful in supplementing my Chinese studies. She's great at helping me pick up words when I forget certain vocabulary and she has plenty of patience when I need a little more time to organize my sentences. She's so kind and a great teacher overall. I can't recommend her enough!

The lesson went well because Jessica prepared well and has a good English level so she can explain things in detail. I'm quite a demanding student so this was important for me. Also, she gave me useful feedback post-lesson and things to work on for my following lesson. Recommend.

她是個好老師！Jessica is a great teacher! I have been studying with her for almost 6 months now, and have learned so much. Jessica is kind, and organised, has excellent classroom and homework materials that are appropriate for my language goals, and keeps our lessons fresh and exciting. I would highly recommend taking her lessons if you want to develop a strong AND functional understanding of Mandarin Chinese. You won't be disappointed. 謝謝 Jessica :)

Jessica is a very friendly and encouraging teacher who also corrects mistakes very effectively. She made me feel very comfortable in my first Mandarin lesson!
