Love having lessons with Elena!! She’s taught me so much and gives me so much opportunity to practice and speak!!

Today we talked about our day, which gave me lots of opportunities to talk about many things since one thing led to another. Whenever I didn't know a word, I would ask, and my teacher would let me know the word, and tell me how to pronounce it.

We reviewed the lesson from last week as well as new material on the same topic. Was very thorough in explaining things I wasn't sure of. She also asked my questions to back up what we just talked about, and went through exercises.

We talked about our weekends, which gave me lots of opportunities to talk a lot. Then we moved on to the reading materials, which helped me practice other scenarios. Whenever I didn't know a word, my teacher would let me know and write it down for me to practice. Her teaching style is great!

I had a trial lesson with Elena, and she seemed inattentive to my needs. She didn’t even ask my name or assess my current language level, and I felt like I was the one directing the lesson instead of her. She didn’t take into account my abilities, asking questions that were too difficult for me to answer. Overall, I felt lost during the lesson and there didn’t seem to be a clear plan for what we would be learning.
