Exactly what I'd hoped for in a first lesson - easy going, gentle but helpful corrections, stayed on familiar vocab and grammar territory for most of the conversation, but also learned some new vocabulary and reviewed grammar while having a fun conversation. Really enjoyed and would recommend.

I want to be clear - Sarah is the best Mandarin teacher I've ever had. I've studied Mandarin for more than 10 years, majored in the language in college, lived in China, passed HSK 6 and advanced speaking tests...but my ability was taken to another level since we've started our classes. Sarah is a very special teacher that can do things very few others can. She will correct you...most teachers actually do not readily do this. She will teach you more natural idiomatic ways of expressing yourself. She is incredibly personable and is able to easily talk through any range of topics you're interested in. She also has the ability to go very deep in specialized topics like business, history and poetry.
