Jania Álvarez ✅​

Jania is an excellent teacher who I have progressed incredibly far with. When I first started with Jania, they created a plan to further my understanding with the goal of becoming conversationally fluent and passing a DELE B1 exam. Jania has excellent knowledge in exam preparation, but further than this a lovely collaborative teaching style which has allowed us to adjust our lessons and plan as I have progressed in my Spanish journey. For me, what sets Jania apart from other tutors I’ve had in the past is excellent communication, facilitating a supportive open environment with permission to be curious – if I don’t understand something, I can ask and Jania will explain in another way. Further, Jania has a great understanding of nuance within a language and has been incredibly helpful in developing my sense of tone within Spanish – for instance, the difference between “El ha muerto” (He has died) vs “El se ha fallecido” (He has passed away). I look forward to my lessons each week.

I really enjoy Jania’s flexibility, her engaging teaching style and her patience. All of these coupled with her expertise and kindness make her an amazing teacher.

Jania is an amazing teacher and even more importantly a wonderful person. She genuinely takes a deep personal interest in your learning while creating a safe space for you to progress in your language journey in a tailored way that suits your personalized needs. I have taken lessons from Jania for over two years and have progressed from a novice level to a confident Spanish speaker. I credit Jania with not just guiding me along my learning path to where I am today, but also inspiring me with a real love for the Spanish language. For both the beginner and experienced learner alike, Jania is an incredible teacher, mentor, and motivator!
