Hello!
My name is Marnie and I love languages! I was born and raised in Western Canada and I speak with a neutral accent. I now live in the Dominican Republic where Spanish is the national language.
I have so many hobbies that it is difficult to list them. Most of all, I love people. Each person is unique with their own skillset and personality. I enjoy meeting new people and spending time in conversation getting to know them. When I am by myself I enjoy sewing, cooking, reading and teaching myself a new language or skill.Ja jako nauczyciel
My experience learning Spanish and Haitian Creole as an adult learner has taught me a few basic principles to learning a new language that I endeavour to share with all of my students. As a teacher I am careful to show patience and appreciation for each individual. I am an energetic learner and enjoy using fun activities and active conversation to make the lessons memorable. My students in the past have had all different types of learning styles and I have come to appreciate the value of calm, natural conversation to build on the knowledge of each student.Moje lekcje & Styl nauczania
I begin each lesson with a clear goal in mind. Generally I base my lesson plan off of a current article from a reputable source that is appropriate to the learning level of the student. Together we can discuss what parts of the material the student understands already and build on that knowledge by breaking down new vocabulary and grammar concepts. Free flowing conversation based on the topic lets you practice your skills while building confidence and fluency. I am happy to design a new lesson plan to help a student with a specific challenge they are encountering. No two students are alike so I do whatever I can to cater my teaching goals to each student and adjust as needed.Moje materiały dydaktyczne
