Hi! I’m Mana, a professional Japanese teacher from Nagano, Japan, now living in Colombia.
I have 13+ years of teaching experience, including 6 years teaching Japanese and 5 years at a tutoring school in Japan. I studied Japanese language education at university.
I speak English and Spanish 😊
My students enjoy my positive energy and feel real progress.
My lessons are structured and customized to your level and goals. I use textbooks such as “Minna no Nihongo,” “Genki,” “Quartet,” and “Irodori,” along with original materials. You don’t need a textbook.
I focus on grammar and real communication. Since I learned English and Spanish abroad, I understand your challenges.

full time teacherAfter I came back from Australia,I worked at this company ( cram school) as full time worker.They teached how to teach very well,and I had private class and group class as well. Basically,I teached math,but I sometimes teached English as well.I realized that I like teachimg a lot, and I learned ,many things because of this place.

Japanese teacherI have been working at this school as Japanese teacher since last year. It was the first time for me teaching Japanese,so they did many hours of training how to teach. Now, I had 6 classes and all my students are very happy with me even I can not talk and explain in Spanish well. This experience will help a lot to teach in Italki.

Mana sensei is a great teacher and I am happy that I can learn Japanese once more from the beginning (I've once learned Japanese during my studies until A1) in a way that I can reactivate my knowledge step by step. Mana sensei is always patient and encouraging, working with me through difficult parts and explaining the grammar and vocabulary very well. What started as a preparation for my Japan trip, is now continuing as my favourite hobby - learning a new language. Mana sensei is very patient and good with kids. Her lessons are fun and make it engaging for her students. She also provides the materials after class for students to review. She gives good tips and recommendations for her students and is also very flexible to accommodate my child’s schedule. My son has been a student of Mana sensei for 9 months already and will continue our lessons with her. I highly recommend Mana sensei.

My first lesson with Mana was great! She took the time to get to know more about me and my reasons for wanting to learn Japanese. She shared her screen and provided great examples and really took into consideration that I want to start with being more conversational, so that I can feel prepared for an upcoming I have later this year. Highly recommend her!

Mana-sensei is always such a pleasure to work with. By now she knows me well and is able to encourage and challenge my Japanese learning so that I continue to grow. She always helps me find a good way to remember grammar. I always look forward to the next lesson!
