Hi ! My name is Mey, and I love music and plants. I enjoy reading and watching videos about everything, to improve myself at what I do every day, from making my own nut butter, to learning on how memory works, or how to play new songs on the guitar. I was born in Paris, but now I live in Normandy. I am a native French speaker. Though my father is Egyptian, I had to learn the little bit of Arabic I know, and I'm still learning ! It's been over six years now since I gave my first lesson, in a training center near Paris, and I've learned a lot about teaching since then. In the city of Rouen, I've worked on a regular basis at a language school where I've had a lot of students, ranging from beginners to more advanced, from more countries than I can list. I focus on the true needs of each student, and I often remind them that practice makes perfect. Whether they're learning French for a project or just for fun, seeing my student's progress and how their work is rewarded as they get closer to their goals are some of the many reasons why I love my job ! It's so frustrating when you know that you've learned something, but can't recall it when the moment comes to use it in real life ! That's why I teach in French as much as possible. It makes you practice, and you'll get used to the speech speed of a native smoothly. I don't mind repeating or reformulating as much as necessary, and I make sure that you're able to use what we work on. We'll go at your pace, and we won't bother with more grammar than needed, or endless lists of vocabulary. Learning has to be fun ! We can have conversations, play games in French, work with texts, songs or videos, and improve your pronunciation, depending on your interests and goals. J’ai déjà suivi 20 cours avec Mey. Elle adapte toujours ses cours à mes faiblesses et choisit des supports authentiques et quotidiens, sur mesure, ce qui m’a permis de faire de grands progrès à l’oral. I have been taking lessons with Mey for a year and a day today! Truly, starting lessons with Mey was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Having lessons twice a week keeps me practicing my french steadily, even when other parts of my life are overwhelming. I’m always happy to see Mey, which makes me more relaxed and comfortable speaking. She’s always coming up with new and interesting lesson ideas to try. I feel like I've made so much progress this year. I can’t wait to see what the next year holds!

J’ai commencé à apprendre le français avec Mey en 2021. J’ai pris un cours d’essai et je reste avec elle pendant des années, car je me sens toujours à l’aise pour parler français avec elle. Elle est patiente, pédagogique, et toujours prête à adapter sa façon de l’enseignement pour mes besoins. J’ai très bien progressé et j’ai de la chance de l’avoir comme professeur. Je recommend fortement.

Mey is well organized and hard working.
I’ve worked with teachers who just shows up to a lesson with no planning in place.
I can tell you she is the opposite of that. She has a good system in place yet she keeps adopting herself according to my learning needs.
I’ve been working with her over a year and looking forward to continuing our partnership together.
