I'm personally a pretty big nerd, love literature, films, music, arts of all forms. I would call myself a citizen of the world without borders.
I was born and raised in Fu Jian, China, then later moved to Hong Kong. I lived in Beijing for 4 years, studied and lived in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto Canada, and Texas, America for over 5 years.
Now here is the fun stuff. I was traveling in South America as a Nomad. I was living in Colombia for 2 years. It's a beautiful country, full of tropical plants. Now I'm Asia. I enjoy talking to people from different cultural backgrounds, sharing and learning different perspectives from interesting individuals. I'm simply a curious cat :PJa jako nauczyciel
I have been a Mandarin tutor/teacher on and off for 20 years. I have a Mandarin Proficiency Test certificate for native speakers as teachers: 2nd grade, A level.
I have taught students from age 3 to 50, and from more than 15 countries, but I prefer students from 13 and older.
Before I quit my job in 2018, started to travel, I worked as a Mandarin teacher for 4 years in International Montessori School of Hong Kong (The biggest Montessori school in Asia).
I'm someone who can only learn through a structured but also entertaining environment. So that's what I would like to do for you, hopefully in every lesson with me, you are not just learning the language, also having fun with it ;PMoje lekcje & Styl nauczania
I tailor make lesson plans for every student because everyone learns differently. There are four main elements to any language, which are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Some students might want fluency in speaking and listening, when others might want to enhance their reading, or character writing, or essay writing.
In one of my standard beginner lessons, I would introduce pronunciation, meaning, and usage of vocabulary. And then I will give samples in short sentences. After that we can study a dialogue, or have a mock conversation.
For higher levels, I would also bring other elements into the class; it could involve music, pop culture, movies, and customs.Moje materiały dydaktyczne

Mandarin TeacherI have turned full-time self-employed Mandarin teacher for online lessons since 2018. On the other words, that I'm a digital nomad now. I don't stay in 1 country or city for a very long time. My students are from all over he world across several continents. I share my travel adventures with my students as a part of the conversation practise. Most of my students have become really good friends with me. So Mandarin lessons are not just a job for me, it's also human connections.

I got the advanced level package course with Yin Chen and I am very satisfied with it. There are challenging tasks for every lesson. Yin Chen asks questions that force you to speak. But there are as much input as output. Every time looking forward to the next lesson!

An amazing teacher - her explanations are clear, the content is focused on useful words, the pacing of the lessons is challenging without ever feeling too difficult and keeps me interested, and she’s really fun and friendly. Her explanations for grammar and sentence structure have helped me develop the ability to independently form new sentences from new vocab words, and helped me develop and intuitive ‘feel’ for when a sentence is right and when something is missing. It’s a good feeling to be able to ‘just know’ if something is right or not.

I've had a few classes with Yin so far. She's super easy to talk to, well-prepared, patient, and helpful in providing new vocabulary and grammar tips in an engaging way. Definitely recommend her! :)

Yin Chen has taught me so much over the past few weeks. She's a natural teacher, modifying her teaching style so I can get the most out of each sessions. She also gives good and fun assignments, reinforcing previous lesson materials.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my time with Yin Chen, and most importantly, I always leave the lesson having had fun and having learnt something new.

I've had several lessons with Yin now and she's honestly one of the best teachers I've ever had for a language. She's always super adaptable based on the questions I have or the topics I bring up. She is very patient and helpful at asking questions and filling in words and sentence structures I'm unsure about or still shaky on as a beginner. We always have such fun conversations that make practising really enjoyable. She writes down and thoroughly explains any new vocabulary that we cover and gives great examples of when and how to use different words naturally. I'm super happy I found such a great teacher! :)
