Hi my name is Kaori. I am from a city near Yokohama in Japan. I have been living in London for 25 years. I also lived in Edinburgh and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, long time ago. こんにちは！　かおりといいます。出身は神奈川県で現在ロンドンに住んでいます。 I have been working as a professional tourist guide in England and Wales. So I have a good knowledge about these areas. I am also a voice-over artist and occasional actress....or I should say an extra. I have been in a feature film (as a waitress)! I love traveling, hill walking, cycling, British music (rock, indie and punk), pale ale, gin, yoga, baking, herbs, Celtic design, cats. I have MSc in Applied Linguistics and I have passed Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test in 90s. I have taught Japanese as a foreign language for 7 years in total from teenager to business person both in group lessons and private lessons. イギリスに25年以上住んでいます。エジンバラ大学で応用言語学の修士を取りました。 Conversation lessons would be in relaxed and friendly style. I won't use any text books or materials. Therefore the main focus is to brush up your speaking and listening skills. It would probably suit from intermediate level onwards. I will correct mistakes in grammar and vocabulary if requested. General Japanese lessons will be, again in relaxed and friendly class! I always enjoy conversation practice with Kaori. For some reason I feel less nervous with her than with other teachers. Probably because of her very good english. I feel like I already learned a lot during her lessons. 5/5

I really enjoyed my lesson with Kaori san. She is a lovely person and very easy to talk to. Encouraging and helps the conversation to flow. I really recommend booking a lesson with Kaori san.

It's so fun to practice speaking with Kaori-san! She encourages me to try speaking and then helps with kind corrections. She also takes notes of the new terms we use so I can reference and practice after class. Thank you!
