Hello! My name is Astrid Claasen and I come from the beautiful continent of Africa. I live in South Africa, in a city called Cape Town. Our country has 11 official languages which gives us a variety of colourful accents! As a native of South Africa I speak both Afrikaans and English and where I am from the accent is neutral, easy to understand and also not too fast! So don’t worry! I am a Music Education graduate and spend most of my time singing and discovering new music from across the world! I enjoy learning about different cultures and different ways of life! I love travelling and wish to see much more of the world! In my free-time I like to paint and be creative! In our classes you can expect a very relaxed yet exciting atmosphere where we can talk about anything beneficial to your learning, both in language and understanding the world! I believe that any learning environment should be a place of tranquility, focus and fun and where everyone feels comfortable to participate and engage! As your teacher I would be very observant and will see to accommodate your learning needs! I would like to make our classes as creative as possible and student-centered, so you may expect learning English with me from texts, videos, music, games, activities and much more! It was nice chat. Astrid is very positive and bubbly person, who can create friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the conversation. She is also attentive to the student's goals and asks good probing questions to clarify whether everything goes smoothly.
