MiJin

Today, we talked about the different characteristics of ideal jobs, a lesson focused on speaking that was prepared for me because I requested a little more emphasis on speaking than the traditional textbooks give. I'm thankful that Mijin has been customizing my lessons and helping me every step of the way!

I have been attending lessons with Mijin 선생님 for almost a year, and during that time, my confidence has come so far! Mijin is really patient and always understands what you are trying to convey, she is able to break down complicated concepts and explains them in an easy to understand way. I've been learning Korean for around 5 years and have been frustratingly stuck in a plateau for a while. However, since learning with Mijin, I have come such a long way in my speaking and understanding! I highly recommend Mijin's class if you are stuck in that intermediate plateau. 😊

It is not easy to find a great tutor when you reach intermediate-advanced level in Korean. Especially one who can combine general learning and test prep. I have been wandering around on platforms for quite some time, but 미진 선생님 appears to be really knowledgeable and helpful. She can provide a structured academic teaching including textbook study enriched with personal notes to make sure everything is understood, while creating a nice atmosphere where I could be myself. Also, when explaining grammar, she doesn’t just stick to the structure explanation but expands it to real life context and makes sure you can reuse it in conversation, adding some natural options to use in daily life. As a language tutor, I can confidently say 미진 선생님 is probably the teacher you have been looking for.

Today we reviewed how to compare two subjects using 부다, and then learned how to use 제일 and 중에서 to express preferences within groups. My 선생님 continues to be helpful and encouraging, even when I forget basic grammar principles and misspell words. I'm finally at a point where I can have basic conversations and I honestly never thought I could get to this point in my learning. I've tried many different ways of learning Korean, but have found that having a solid private tutor has helped me grow exponentially and kept me accountable in my Korean language journey. I've grown so much over the course of a few months and would highly recommend her to anyone who is new to learning Korean!
