I have tried many Italki teachers/tutors and Mailén is one of, if not the best Spanish teacher on this platform. I have taken weekly classes with her for the past ~6 months, both as a way to prepare for my DELE exam in November and as a way to improve my Spanish speaking and comprehension. As a teacher, Mailén is structured, prepared, she is good at coming up with probing questions when discussing an article or a literary work, which has helped me greatly in improving my speaking. We work on all 4 skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) of learning a language and she has helped me improve on all fronts. As an intermediate/advanced student, I know how difficult it is to find a teacher who can get your language skills to "that next level", but Mailén has the talent and passion for language and teaching, and she will help get you there! She has my highest recommendations and I hope to work with her for more time to come.

Tomorrow is my DELE exam, and I feel quite confident after having practised with Mailén for months. We've worked on my insecurities, my writing skills, and, most importantly, the subjects that could potentially come up during the oral part of the exam. If you're looking for a teacher who knows the DELE exams well, Mailén is the right person. She prepares her own pruebas, but also works with exercises from books. She focuses not only on topics that have appeared in previous exams, but also on issues that are relevant in today’s society. Moreover, Mailén has extensive knowledge of sociology and literature. Her extra tareas introduced me to world-class writers and important social issues.

Excellent lesson

I thoroughly enjoyed my lesson with Mailén today. In our lessons, I always learn something new: whether that's vocabulary or being able to speak about a topic I haven't before.
