Hi, guys! My name is Izumi. I'm from Kumamoto, Japan.
I love:
- Cooking...I'm a foodie and I love trying new recipes from all over the world. I'd love to learn if you have a special recipe to share with me! ;)
- Reading...I love reading both in Japanese and in English!
- Dancing...Swing dance (esp. Lindy Hop!) is my passion!
- Anime... These Covid days got me hooked into Anime! My recent favorites are Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia. Yep, I'm a newb. So, come to my lesson and educate me with your favorite anime/manga!

I studied Japanese language education and linguistics both in college and grad school, and I have been a professional Japanese teacher for 10 years+. I used to teach in Oklahoma, USA and in Monterrey, Mexico.
I have taught people from diverse backgrounds such as exchange students, businesspersons, homemakers, high school students, and college students. So, I can customize my curriculum to meet your specific needs. I can also explain confusing and complicated grammar/vocabulary well!

I will encourage you to speak as much in Japanese as possible during my lessons, but we can always switch to English if you want!
My beginner/intermediate grammar&vocab lessons are based on "Dekiru Nihongo" but you don't need to have the textbook. I will also use various other textbooks and my original materials depending on the lesson options.

I highly recommend Izumi's class! Her teaching style works the best for how I learn with very engaging material from a unique textbook. I feel like I've learned and improved exponentially since I started lessons with her. She is very encouraging and conversations are always a lot of fun. I enjoy my lessons with Izumi very much! We are doing lessons together since 11 months now once a week and I can really feel how my Japanese has improved which makes me very happy. She is always well organized, professional, motivating and just a fun person to be around.

Izumiさん is a Very good teacher. She knows how to teach in a fun way and is very kind. Very good English too, so the communication is no problem. There’s no need for textbooks which makes everything easier. いずみさんis Highly Recommended👍🏽
