Hello! My name is Ekaterina (or simply Katya), and I’m a teacher of Russian as a foreign language. I’m an open-minded, positive, and friendly person with a good sense of humor (at least I think so, haha).
I enjoy traveling, photography, playing the guitar, reading, and learning languages. I also adore dogs, rock music, and stand-up comedy 😄 And most importantly — I truly love the Russian language!
Besides Russian, I speak English, German, and Serbian, so even if you're a complete beginner, we will easily find a way to communicate.
I have also lived in different regions of Russia — from the south to Lake Baikal in Siberia — and can share real-life insights into everyday life in Russia.Ja jako nauczyciel
I hold a bachelor’s degree in philology and journalism, as well as a master’s degree in linguistics with a specialization in Russian as a foreign language. I studied at the Higher School of Economics, one of the leading universities in Russia.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, I have worked at a language school in Sochi and at the Munich Volkshochschule, and now teach mainly online. Over the years, I have worked with students of different ages (6–85), nationalities, and levels (A0–C2).

Katya has been an absolute blessing for my language learning journey, her expertise, patience, great sense of humor along with her unwavering passion for teaching, truly shine through every lesson. What sets her apart from other teachers is the warm and supportive environment she creates, that encourages me to push beyond my comfort zone, I'll also add that with her guidance, my language skills have improved in areas that have proven challenging for me in the past, and I've gained the confidence to communicate more precisely and effectively.
I must say that I am truly inspired by Katya's dedication to language learning, as well as her assertiveness, that help make each lesson an overall great experience.

I have finished a few lessons now and I can say I absolutely love working the Ekaterina. She is not afraid to be honest with you and is focused on results. Her English is excellent and she has a great sense of humor. The lessons a serious but fun. I highly recommend.

I have been learning Russian for the past 3 years and I am so happy to have found Katya, as she is an absolutely incredible Russian tutor. Her knowledge and teaching style is vast and interesting and she is very easy to practice my Russian conversational skills with. I strongly recommend her for any level, whether you are a beginner or already advanced. She is always prepared with an interesting topic and/or lesson plan and she makes learning russian very fun!
