Hello, my name is Suhyeon.
I’m a native Korean living in Seoul, so I teach using standard Korean. At my university, I majored in Korean Language Education as a Foreign Language. I also have a Korean language teaching certificate from the National Institute of Korean Language. I believe that Korean should be spoken in class as much as possible to be fully immersed in Korean language and culture 😊Ja jako nauczyciel
👩🏫 As a teacher, I think that the most important thing when you are learning a foreign language is to not be judged for making a mistake when practicing. I always try my best to make students feel like they can learn in my class with helpful feedback. 📚 If there are certain topics or study material you want to learn like useful phrases when traveling in Korea, learning Korean using articles, or learning song lyrics then classes can be changed to fit that purpose.
📃 For more structured classes, I use PowerPoint to highlight key points with pictures, words, and audio. After class I will send you a homework pdf file so that you can practice reading and writing. I can also give feedback once you finish the homework and send the file.

The best Korean teacher I have. I’ve been with her for three years. I think this is the 3rd year and we have progressed a lot. I’ve learned so much from teacher. I went to a Korean school before but I just couldn’t understand anything until I met her and I restarted everything with her and I seen myself improved and enjoyed Korean language even more. I’m so happy that I can learn with her.

During my years at university, my Korean had gradually become worse. But having lessons with Suhyeon has helped me gain the confidence to speak Korean often again. She is patient, open to lesson suggestions, has great teaching material, and guides me when I make mistakes. Can't wait until the next lesson!

I’ve learned so much with Suhyeon and I always have a lot of fun with her! The materials she uses are so helpful and she’s very patient when we practice speaking. It motivates me a lot to learn more Korean.

수현 is an outstanding teacher! I have been learning with her for over a month, and have been able to make significant progress.
She covers content comprehensively which makes me feel like I am learning the Korean language completely. Her homework is digestible, and she her supplemental resources are incredibly helpful.
It was pretty scary to start tutoring, but 수현’s patience and compassion has made it something I look forward to every week. I am very thankful for her, and would highly recommend her to anyone else looking for Korean tutoring!
