My name is Lucas. I am from Argentina, Rosario. Currently I am teaching Latin and Ancient Greek.Ja jako nauczyciel
I have been teaching by the natural method for three years online. The lessons are really practical (the students read, hear, speak, write in Latin and Ancient Greek.) and tend to gravitate around the main goal: acquire fluency to read the great classics.
While most of my experience involves helping beginners learn to read Latin and Ancient Greek literature fluently, I've also tutored high school students with their studies, as well as assisted others with literature translation, grammar instruction, and conversation practice.

In lessons, we read a textbook and generate a conversation around that. I ask a lot of questions to check comprehension and improve the student's ability to speak and hear, and encourage students to paraphrase. In case there is any doubt, I explain the text mostly in Latin or Ancient Greek. I also make comments about some pertinent historical facts about the text or related topics.
Since I believe that is quite important to practice a language to master it, I give homework which includes exercises and writing summaries.

I have been taking Latin with Lucas for about a year, and just recently started learning Ancient Greek. In both subjects he has been a fantastic teacher, and having taken lessons with other teachers on italki, I can definitely say he is one of the best. He takes the time to explain key concepts and gives great exercises to ensure mastery. In just two Ancient Greek lessons I already feel significantly more capable in my reading comprehension, and speaking abilities.

I love reading and discussing Ovid with Lucas, and I look forward to reading many more historical and literary texts in the original! I can say that I reach a flow state during lessons, where we're both so engrossed in the texts and our discussion.
