My love and passion for creatively teaching, training, and mentoring people and seeing them progress is what drove me to become an ESL teacher. I am eager to utilize my strengths as a public speaker and I am driven by excellence, to guide others in their journey of learning a new language. My passion for teaching, training & mentoring — seeing growth — drove me to become an ESL teacher. As a confident public speaker driven by excellence, I love guiding students on their language journey.I have substantial experience teaching children (6–18) from diverse backgrounds in classrooms while building strong parent relationships. I’ve also taught & mentored adults (18–52) personally and academically.I specialize in conversational English to identify vocabulary and grammar needs naturally. I use minimal targeted grammar to keep students motivated and build speaking confidence. I coach young people to discover passions and strengths, and provide written feedback after every lesson. My teaching style is focussed on conversational English, which gives me an indication of the grammar and vocabulary needs of the student, after which I teach very limited grammar (just enough for the student's speaking ability to improve), as I believe that for most students, grammar can be very demotivating. I also give my students proper written feedback after each lesson.

Zander is an amazing English teacher! He helped me find new ways to use English I didn't know existed, and it gave me tons of ideas for getting better. He's attentive to my mistakes and creates helpful study plans and topics for our next sessions, which is very interesting for me. I appreciate that he prioritizes my needs and interests, while also being open to casual conversations during our sessions. I highly recommend him!

I've only had two lessons with Zander, but I have to say, I'm excited about the next ones! He is very attentive and I can see how interested he is in helping me improve my English. He is clear about my strengths and the areas for improvement, and he shares a clear plan on how to tackle them.
