I am Chia from Taiwan, and I grew up in Taipei. I am a native Mandarin speaker, and I also speak English and Spanish. I majored in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. In addition, I completed my master's degree in Spain, focusing on Culture studies. During my studies, I also delved into the evolution of Chinese characters, both traditional and simplified. If you are interested in this topic, we can discuss it in our classes.

I have 8+ years of Mandarin teaching experience, working with students of diverse backgrounds and age groups. My classes cater to beginners through higher intermediate levels and have been conducted in various settings such as the Philippines, Spain, private companies, universities, and online courses. My students, ranging from 3 to 65 years old and representing different countries and languages, all share a passion for learning Mandarin and strive to improve.

My classes focus on Chinese grammar, speaking, and listening skills, which are essential for language fluency. We cover a wide range of materials, including Kids' Mandarin, Daily Conversation, levels from Zero to Advanced, Business Mandarin, and Mandarin exam preparation (TOCFL, HSK). If desired, I can also include classes on Chinese culture, reading, and short writing exercises. Traditional and simplified characters will both be taught. I provide free learning materials, so there's no need to purchase additional lecture notes.

If you're serious about improving your Chinese, Chia is the teacher you want. She's punctual, warm, and gives you space to speak without pressure—perfect for building confidence. Her immersive use of Chinese made me feel like I was in Taiwan, and her fluent English (and Spanish!) made explanations crystal clear. I loved that she tailored the lesson to my goals and even sent a recording so I could review native pronunciation after. The connection was flawless—no glitches, no stress. I've tried a few tutors, but Chia stands out for her calm, encouraging style. Highly recommended!
