Native teacher since 2018 with an MA in Danish and pedagogical training from Copenhagen University I acquired my love for Danish as well as Classical languages from my paternal grandmother, who was a Danish and History teacher for many years. At some times during my university studies, I had to study Latin on my own because very few people chose that minor. I often felt stuck and thought about quitting, but I tried to find the patience and I explored different methods in order to learn. I don't believe that grammar books and filling in blanks on worksheets is the way in which a language, or anything for that matter, should be learned. It is neither fun, nor in my experience particularly effective.
