Learning Danish is a challenge - but more interesting and fun with a good guide I taught over 6000 online lessons in Danish, one-on-one. I started teaching online 10 years ago. Before then, I was teaching English (one-on-one) in China. I passed a lot of long and short courses in teaching and studying techniques. I think the best way to learn a language is to have an interest in it and its culture. I believe that teaching should have the student in focus. I think it's important to find a way to incorporate your interests and make sure you reach your language goals. I don't believe that grammar books and filling in blanks on worksheets is the way in which a language, or anything for that matter, should be learned. It is neither fun, nor in my experience particularly effective. Of course, as a beginner, some basic grammar is needed, but as soon as my students have enough vocabulary to start using the language in meaningful sentences and conversations, I seek to activate this language in my student in a fun and engaging way.
