I would typically start a lesson by asking what has happened since the last time I met the pupil, and ask if he/she has any questions. Then I would bring up a topic, i.e. a news article, a new tv-show, etc. and start a conversation around this. As we encounter words that the student doesn't understand or know I will ask him/her to write them down and study them as homwork. I will not neglect grammar though. I will gradually expleain how present, past, futeur tense, etc. is formed, and of course other grammatical rules.

I always try to make the lesson contents according to the students level. While teaching I always try to make sure my students speaks and expresses themselves as much as possible and I'll always encourage them and also fill in the blanks to give them a little push so they won't be stopping in the middle of the sentence.
