Descrição
Some of the smallest words in Indian English carry the most meaning, and they are the ones visitors most often misread. "Actually" does not always signal a correction; "basically" may introduce the main point rather than a simplification; "only" may add emphasis rather than limit; "itself" may mean "already" or "right there"; and the little tags "na", "yaar", "no?" and "re" change the tone of a whole sentence. What you will learn: • "Actually" • "Basically" • "Only" and "Itself" for emphasis • "Na", "No?", "Yaar" and "Re": tags that change the tone • "Isn't it?" and other invariant tags • Other common markers • Practice: decode the sentence • Listening strategies • Self-check questions to test your ear Level: B1–B2. Self-study: listen, then take the quizzes. Audio voiced with AI from an original script by Dr. Rashmi R Nair.
