History cannot teach us about today. What do you think about this statement?
It is hard a question, this issue it is a hot topic for debate by many generation in recently. From my point of view, the problems we face as a society have often already been faced by previous generations, so, I think history will have something to teach us. Having a sentence of Mark Twain once said: " History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme". This means that even though the problems we face might not be identical, but it is nonetheless fundamentally similar to what previous generations of humans have through. Therefore, studying the history allows us to not repeat the same mistakes of the past. I argue that while we should adapt to present circumstances, there is still much to learned from the past to help understand the issues of today.
