Written Exercise 76 - Chinese Longtaitou Festival (龙抬头)
It is the second day of the second month on the Chinese Lunar calendar, which is called the traditional Chinese Longtaitou Festival, or Dragon-Head-Raising Festival. Although people don’t follow all of the traditional ways to celebrate it nowadays, there are some of them we still do. Such as getting a haircut, which is the most famous tradition of them.
There are still some families to follow more traditional ways by making some special food and offering sacrifices to God. People pray for their family or what they want.
Last night, we made a sweet cake for it. It was steamed. Picture 1 is the mixture on a plate which is about 15cm across. Picture 2 is a done cake, you can see that it is swollen up. Picture 3 is the cross section of the cake.
We enjoyed the cake after finishing the rite. It was tasty.
Happy Longtaitou Festival!
