One of the most frequent errors Spanish learners make (especially English speakers) is using muy and mucho as if they were the same, because in English both are often translated as very or a lot.
👉 But in Spanish, they are used differently.
✅ Basic rule (very important)
🔹 MUY
Used before adjectives and adverbs.
👉 It never changes.
Es muy caro (It’s very expensive)
Habla muy rápido (He speaks very fast)
Está muy cansado (He is very tired)
🔹 MUCHO / MUCHA / MUCHOS / MUCHAS
Used with nouns and with verbs.
👉 It changes for gender and number when used with nouns.
Tengo mucho trabajo (I have a lot of work)
Hay muchas personas (There are many people)
Me gusta mucho el español (I like Spanish a lot)
