For me, I'm learning because my heart says so (Spanish). I struggled to learn Italian for work (over ten years I worked 2 weeks a year in Italy) partly because I find Italian so irregular and I think partly because it was for work and partly because I was trying to get it right.   It was only when my Aunt pointed out that my deaf Grandmother communicated really well with Italians that I rethought my approach.   My Grandmother was profoundly deaf, and had learnt to communicate using all manner of non-verbal communication. So I could watch a mother saying "no" to her child, and the child stamping her feet, crying and saying "Gelato" (Ice Cream) and even though I only heard two words I understood everything I needed about the conversation.   I also used to speak German for work, and keep meaning to refresh it, but as I am over 50 I had to decide to stick with one language.   I saw some of the comments suggesting you learn both because they are similar.   That sounds like a nice idea, but I'm too old for that myself.

Fantasy from U.K.

Recently, I realised that I hadn't watched a movie for several months.
So I wanted to watch some.

I checked the list of the movies on offer.
This season, there are many.
I found some that I would like to watch.
One of them is "メアリと魔女の花" (Mary and the Witch's Flower).
It is an animation.
Usually, I don't like animations much, but I do have some favourite animations such as "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Kiki's Delivery Service". I have DVDs of them.
This movie seems to be similar to them.
So I am thinking of watching it.

This movie is based on a novel, "The Little Broomstick" written by a British novelist, Mary Stewart.
I don't think I have read her books yet.

By the way, it seems like authors in the U.K. have produced many good fantasy stories.
Alice, Peter Pan, The Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and Harry Potter.
I am curious as to why so many popular stories come from the U.K.

A frost in the North

It is frosty today, the temperate is about -30 degrees. In the morning I stayed next to the window and watched over the cold city.   All people were well dressed for the cold. They put on felt boots, fur coats, mittens and cover their faces with scarfs.
I saw a woman in sports suit, but she looked so strange! I thought maybe is she from another place?
There are few cars in the streets. Some people can't turn on an engine of their cars. You can see the breath from the faces of frozen people as well as the exhausts from cars.. People hurry to their destinations. - to work or to the kindergarten. Few children go to school because junior class children must stay at home.
They are really happy today.
When I went out today I felled a pinch on my checks. I breathed the cold air and smiled. I like this fresh bracing air. I went quite quickly and run into the cafe and take away one cup of coffee. I enjoy smelling the aroma of fresh coffee.
When I went round a corner the strong wind caught me. I thought that people in North Pole feel like I feel at this moment.
My face had burned through the cold air and the wind and my eyes can't see. But it was not for long.   Soon I feel better.
I went to my work and thought this is why my city Surgut is wonderful. There are clean streets without snow through we have a lot of snow in the winter. There are polite drivers who always give way to pedestrians.
I smiled and feel happy.

the harm caused by misleading information online

Nowadays, there is a lot of information online which fits the need of different people. But unfortunately, only a small part of this information is useful.The rest is false, fraudulent or misleading.
Misleading information can  affect our lives seriously.   First of all, lots of misleading information makes it difficult to find the useful information, wasting a lot of our time on searching. Secondly, misleading information may generate a erroneous thoughts among the public, for example Internet violence which can cause a lot of victims. Finally, as more and more children are easily misled by bad information as they begin to surf on the Internet they may be directed down the wrong road.
In a conclusion, misleading information is harmful to us all. We should keep away from it and not spread it.
