EL AGUACATE.

Aguacate es el nombre común con que se conoce a esta generosa planta de la familia de las Lauraceae; deriva del Náhuatl “Ahuácatl”, que significa testículo, probablemente por la forma colgante del fruto. 
A diferencia de otros países, la cocina mexicana cuenta con una de las agriculturas básicas más primigenias en el mundo, con una antigüedad que ronda los siete mil años, siendo de los primeros cultivos domesticados de los que se tienen registro además del maíz y el chile.
En México contamos con una amplia variedad de aguacates criollos, desde el aguacate pequeño y perfumado, cuya carnosidad es tan suave como mantequilla y se puede consumir con cáscara, hasta los aguacates alargados de las zonas tropicales, de gran tamaño y sabor ligeramente dulce. 
Este fruto milenario de la cultura mexicana, es uno de los ingredientes que no sólo aporta valor nutricional sino también un gran sabor a las cocinas de cualquier restaurante en México y el mundo.
El aguacate es uno de los productos más exitosos de la exportación agroalimentaria de México, por lo que se ha convertido en el principal proveedor de este maravilloso fruto en el mercado internacional. 

Llega a China, países miembros de la Unión Europea, así como a naciones con los que México no tiene tratados de libre comercio. Los principales destinos son Estados Unidos, Japón, Canadá, España, Francia, Países Bajos, ENTRE OTROS...

El día que se consume la mayor cantidad de  aguacate mexicano en Estados Unidos es durante el Super Bowl, visto por 11 millones de televidentes y quienes lo consideran parte de la botana favorita para disfrutar de este gran evento deportivo.

EL AGUACATE.

Once again, the Mediterranean diet has been named the world's best by US News & World Report.

The diet, which is eaten across the world but is based on foods and recipes from countries around the Mediterranean Sea, has now been at the top of the list for six years.

Its focus on fruit, vegetables, olive oil and fish has helped the Mediterranean diet to the top, according to US News.

A team of experts looked at 24 different diets, putting them in order from best to worst.

There were also a number of different category winners.

The Mediterranean diet was chosen as the best plant-based diet, and, along with the flexitarian diet, it tied as the best for families. It also tied with the DASH diet as the best for healthy bones.

The flexitarian diet encourages people to eat a vegetarian diet most of the time, but still allows some meat.

The DASH diet is meant to help people with high blood pressure. It focuses on fruit, vegetables and whole grains, as well as low-fat products.

The flexitarian and DASH diets also tied for second place on the overall list.

The Mediterranean diet is not exactly the same across all Mediterranean countries, but these countries do share the same basic eating principles.

This low-fat way of eating — which also includes beans and grains, and not much red meat or butter — has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease and other health problems.

Speaking to CNN, Gretel Schueller from US News said we can all use these ideas to eat a Mediterranean diet wherever we are in the world.
