Is the alphabet of every culture and language an abstract one, based on agreement,
or is depicting the man's perception of the environment/ the "cosmos" around him?
What do the ΑΒΓ letters in Greek symbolize? Is there a specific object or good of man's daily life behind each letter's depiction? What is the meaning of it?
The Greek alphabet, which is the basis for the English word "alphabet," was adopted from the Phoenicians and is not directly based on a symbolic representation of objects or the cosmos for each letter, though the shapes have evolved from earlier symbolic scripts.
