Michael Parley Lea
TOEFL writing Answer: #2 and #3, #4 paragraphs Initially, I was thought as same as the statement describes, but it was changed since I read a book which was suggested that enjoyment and games are essential components for people along the way to success. Personal enjoyment-doing things are also the thing that people should do. Because such efficient leisure time could give people a break to their mind, and then stimulate them to work more efficiently. For instance, a brother of mine was preparing his application for graduate school, tons of materials need to be organized and exams need to pass. For a long period, he slept less than six hours per day to ensure he had sufficient time to complete his tasks. However, things did not appear to process as same as he thought. He became exhausted in few weeks, without playing any games or enjoyments, and eventually, we had to send him to a hospital to take an essential rest. In addition, the picture the statement depicts seems not to be consistent with my living circumstance. In the country I am living in, people are willing to spend their time on projects, tasks and creating masterpieces. In addition to personal requirements, our government also indicates that all 1.4 billion people living in the mainland are going to achieve the greatest achievement in human history, the renowned Chinese Dream. So people are willing to sacrifice their leisure time to accomplish the glorious purpose. Take a scientist in history as an example, Qian Xuesen, he is one of the most famous physicians in Chinese history. Because he refused the payment that was much higher than the motherland could afford at the certain period, and then came back to serve the government. Eventually, he invented the atomic bomb, spent over two decades with his team at dessert in northwestern China, without any enjoyments. In conclusion, I disagree with the viewpoint that people today spend time on enjoyment much higher that things they should do.
