When I was a child, am I fell in love with “ the story of a seagull and the cat who taught her to fly” by Luis Sepulveda. I was hooked from the first page, I couldn't put it down and since then it has been my favourite book.

Hi Claudia! Very well written. When I correct a students work I try to show alternative phrases that a native might use. The collocations I have suggested are: to be hooked (to be extremely intersted in sth), I coudn't put it down. You could also say that a book is a 'page-turner' which means a book that is really exciting! Great work

When I was a child, I fell in love with the story of “A seagull and the cat who taught her to fly” by Luis Sepulveda. I remember that it had struck me from (maybe say ‘it made an impression on me from the very first page’) the very first page and after that it became my favourite book.
