My name is Bob and I am born and raised in the South of The Netherlands. Besides being an iTalki teacher, I’m also a professional musician, after having graduated from my Bachelor of Music, at the Rock Academy in 2019. My professional life brought me to several countries and cultures. During my study it happened that I got to live and work in Berlin & London, Europe’s two most vibrant music cities. After I started to tour intensively throughout the UK and Northern Europe, with my London based band The Gulls, my fascination for different cultures and languages started to evolve even more. After having had 15+ years of experience teaching music, it goes without saying that I really enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. Throughout the years I learned how important it is to keep lessons enjoyable, but challenging at the same time. Being a musician, I obviously incorporate musical elements into my lessons, which will run through it like a main thread. By figuring out what exactly you would like to learn and paving the way towards reaching your own goal, with lots of fun and laughs along the way, I’m confident that my classes will provide you a fun way to learn a new language. During my lessons, my main aim is to help you feel confident with your Dutch and enjoy the ride towards that goal. We are going to explore the Dutch language by chatting about lots of different subjects. Increasing your vocabulary will therefore happen instantly, by speaking about lots of different topics, trending stuff that is happening in The Netherlands, or in the world. Besides that, we are also going to speak about Dutch culture, as well as looking into your grammar skills at the same time. Germanic languages have the reputation of being difficult, but I am going to prove to you that they can be fun as well! It was my first class and it went really well. Bob taught me basic sentences in Dutch and also corrected my pronunciation in a very friendly way.

I’ve only had a few lessons with Bob, but he’s been amazing! He’s friendly, flexible, and replies quickly. His lessons are fun and engaging, and he’s always open to tailoring them to your needs—just let him know what you’re looking for. Plus, his English is excellent, which makes explanations much easier to understand.

I completed my first course with Bob today, and I’m going to book another package! Bob is a patient and attentive teacher, and a great conversation partner. He consistently corrects my mistakes and helps me say things more naturally in Dutch. That really builds confidence.
🇳🇱 Ik heb vandaag mijn eerste cursus met Bob afgerond en ik ga een nieuw pakket boeken. Bob is een geduldige docent en een fijne gesprekspartner. We hebben veel interessante gesprekken in het Nederlands gevoerd. Hij corrigeert fouten altijd meteen en legt uit wat de juiste manier is om te zeggen wat ik bedoel. Dat is heel behulpzaam. Dankjewel, Bob, en tot de volgende keer!

Ik heb een leuke les met Bob gehad. Hij is attent, verantwoordelijk, geduldig en hij doet zijn best om je echt Nederlands te leren.
