Johannes Dietvorst

Johan is a great conversationalist and extremely proficient at designating between words. Dutch has so many subtleties that dictionaries and translators cannot capture. He is also very good at teaching Standard Dutch along with "real world" Dutch and how it plays out in different regions. Plus, he's hilarious!

He is the coolest teacher on italki but at the same time the most attentive and professional one too. I only have one regret is that I haven’t booked a lesson earlier with him :/ And known him during my dutch course

Johan's knowledge about the Dutch language is truly impressive. His passion, positive energy and enthusiasm to share it make his lesson always entertaining and full of learning. Also he is very patient and manages to make me talk despite my low speaking level, which I appreciate a lot. And he has a ton of material that he can adapt to suit the way you want to practice. So I can only recommend him, whether you are a beginner or want to improve your current level, you'll be in good hands.

It was a great trial session for a beginner like me! Johannes was full of energy and very insightful. Communicated before the lesson to ensure that my goals would be discussed. Such a great natural teacher. I learned much in my session and walked away with great notes and advice.

It was great! I had the change to ask so much, I always felt listened and explanations were always very insiand satisfactory. I learn a lot on my own rhythm :)

Johan is an amazing Dutch teacher. He is knowledgeable about so many different topics that you can talk to him about anything in Dutch!!!
