Raymond

I’ve been studying with Ray for 24 weeks – and I moved from A0 to B1+, while living in the US. Ray is approachable, flexible, and extremely supportive. I came in with a good understanding of my own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to language learning and he was able to adapt his style to what I needed. Ray had zero ego about all the supplemental ways I tried to educate myself – there was no rigid “this is my method and ye shall not deviate from it” BS. He brought so many free resources to the table that I didn’t have to spend a dime on books, videos, or worksheets. We had our final lesson today and we spent the first 45 minutes just discussing what is going on in my life **in Dutch** – I could never have predicted I’d be able to do that at this point and I’m thrilled with the progress I’ve made. I’m moving to AMS next month and will absolutely be able to live daily life in Dutch because of the work we’ve done together. TL;DR Smash that booking button – Ray is your guy!

I am someone who traditionally struggles to learn language, but Raymond is an unparalleled teacher. I feel for the first time that I am making substantial progress towards achieving my dream of being bilingual after many failed attempts in school. Raymond is attentive and knowledgable, he exhibits a fundamental understanding of many languages which allows him to tailer the course in a way that works best for you. Raymond is a very good teacher who always gives constructive inputs and suggestions about my speaking skills in Dutch. He also proactively provided useful material resources to help me conducting a job interview in Dutch. I'll definitely book more practice sessions more in the future when I might need some help in building my Dutch speaking confidence. Dankjewel Ray, veel succes voor jou!

Raymond quickly adapted to my needs, playing a vital role in enhancing my Dutch speaking skills. His friendly encouragement made conversations feel natural, akin to chatting with a friend. I genuinely looked forward to my weekly lessons with him. His positive approach made speaking Dutch less challenging, reducing grammatical errors, broadening my active vocabulary, and enhancing my readiness for immersion in Dutch society. Over six months of weekly sessions, I progressed from A2.2/B1.1 to B1.2/B2.1 proficiency. While I had a decent grasp of vocabulary and grammar, I often struggled to put them into practice during speech. Raymond's classes significantly helped make my speech feel more natural and accurate. I now feel much closer to achieving professional fluency in the near future.

An enjoyable and stress-free environment for my first language class outside of school! Would recommend for anyone looking for guidance or a more structured learning enviroment. Lesson materials were provided upfront with a brief overview of future lesson plans and lesson flow.

I would like to share my experience with Raymond. We prepared together for the A1 basisexamen inburgering buitenland, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Thanks to the clear explanations, our lessons and constant support, I was able to achieve the highest possible score! 10 out of 10 in all sections of the exam :) The lessons were always well-organized and focused on what really mattered for the exam, while still helping me build a solid foundation in the language.
