This is a chance for us to get to know each other. You can tell me about your learning goals and how you like to learn. I'll explain my classes and the materials I use. And we'll have a short lesson to start improving your English.

We'll talk about whatever you like to talk about, in English. It's a relaxed and friendly conversation where the goal is to give you a chance to express yourself. I'll help you with prompts and subtle corrections, when necessary, but without breaking the flow of the conversation.
If you want, you can tell me about your interests and I will find articles, essays, and videos in your areas of interest and send them to you to read or watch before our lesson. We will then use these texts as a basis for our conversation in class. This helps you expand your English vocabulary and grammar in an enjoyable way. And most of all, it helps you gain fluency so you can express yourself in English about a range of subjects that are interesting to you.
This kind of conversation lesson is perfect for learners who already know some English and want a chance to practice speaking it with a friendly, sympathetic conversation partner.

English Conversation

Interview and Presentation Practice

This course teaches lawyers English vocabulary and grammar specifically to help them advise and represent their clients in English. Based on my training and experience as a lawyer in the United States, I have prepared a forty-lesson legal English course that uses real legal materials (case decisions, contracts, statutes, treaties) to teach the English you will need in order to discuss legal issues in a broad range of areas, including contracts, intellectual property, corporate, securities, arbitration, and tax. During the lessons, you'll have opportunities to practice real skills with me, as I play the role of a client or opposing counsel, and you explain legal concepts to me or we negotiate to resolve a dispute, in English. If you are a lawyer or law student who wants to improve your English with a focus on legal English, this course is for you.

Legal English

This is a five-week, intensive course designed to prepare teachers to effectively teach English to non-native speakers. It requires supervised lesson planning and teaching, and imparts skills for helping students learn as efficiently as possible.

This class is for students who already have some basic knowledge of English and would like to improve their fluency through real, meaningful conversations.

We can recreate everyday situations—like going to a café, shopping at a market, or chatting about hobbies—or dive into topics you're interested in, whether that's travel, culture, or daily life. The goal is to help you speak more naturally and comfortably, at your own pace.

To guide our conversations, we may use short videos, articles, or discussion prompts. If you have a topic you’d like to explore, feel free to let me know before class, and I’ll adapt the session to your level. Otherwise, I’ll suggest a topic during the lesson.

During the session, I will gently correct mistakes when needed and introduce new words and expressions to help expand your vocabulary and make your English sound more natural.

We will then spend the final part of the class practicing the new and/or corrected words and phrases.

Practise talking about current events around the globe, learn to understand headlines, and improve your ability to discuss new topics.

In this class we will look at three current news stories, and:

1) Try to understand the story from just the headline.
2) Discuss the story, and practice giving your opinion in English.
3) Look at any English mistakes and correct them, then try again.

News stories can be an excellent way to study English; they often include past, present, and future; they deal with a wide range of topics; and they are very common in 'small talk' situations, so you should get some chance to practise talking about news in real life!

Many students are nervous about the IELTS speaking paper, but they don't have to be; it can seem scary at first but the questions follow similar patterns and there are many useful phrases and expressions we can learn to help.
