Hi everyone, and welcome back to Everyday English. Today’s episode is about personality. Are you more of an extrovert or an introvert? Or maybe you’re somewhere in between? Let’s find out! Extroverts love socializing, meeting new people, and feel energized in busy environments. They enjoy group activities, thrive in social situations, and often express their thoughts openly. If you love parties, speaking in front of a crowd, and you make new friends easily, you might be an extrovert! Introverts, on the other hand, prefer quiet time, deep conversations, and need space to recharge after socializing. They often enjoy reading, writing, or creative hobbies alone. If you feel drained after large social events and enjoy spending time in peaceful settings, you might be an introvert. But here’s a fun fact—many people aren’t fully one or the other! Ambiverts have a mix of both traits. They can enjoy social events but also need alone time to recharge. If you like going out sometimes but also love staying home, you might be an ambivert! I think I’m more of an introvert—I love spending time in my garden and with my cats. What about you? Do you relate more to introverts or extroverts? Or are you somewhere in between? Writing Improvement for Back to School Days One way to become a better writer is to writer something, even if it's short, everyday. What stops students young, old and native language writer is the common, "I don't know what to write about." This is very common for both language students and native writers. I want to share a solution with you called "Flow writing or Free Writing." This happened to me in a class for writers yesterday morning. The teacher gave us all a picture and asked us to write about it for 40 minutes. This is what the picture looked like: Imagine an Empress Seated on a Throne Empress with wings. In the right hand she has an eagle, in the left a scepter. She has a crown with 12 stones. Eagle as a symbol of soul and life. Feminine activity. Fruitfulness, goddess. This is what I wrote:10:40 I have nothing Eagle scepter crown Soul life and power power ( power and control) Fruitfulness the ability to supply through many seasons I don’t know what to write. But, writingn is supposed to create thought. So, I will write what I anything I think. Now I havve spelling mistake. Two. Arghhh. Mistaken soul mistaken life mistaken power and control Are there different kinds of mistaken souls or mistaken lives? If there are mistaken lives are there correct lives? What is it that makes a correct life? A purpose or goal. Purpose and goal guide us to achievement How many achievements? Can purpose and goal change? Is change a mistake? Is it a mistake not to change? How do mistakes give us purpose or goals? 11:07 In this example you will see spelling mistakes. This is not a grammar exercise but an idea one. This exercise was a success for me because I did not start with the idea of change being a mistake. My book has a chapter about a mistake. English students: Can you relate to this? You want to sound more clear and understandable to a native English speaker. Not just have people understand a few of your words then assume what you're actually saying. But to have your listeners completely understand you instantly without having to make any assumptions or use 'context' clues. Maybe you've never had someone from the United States judge your speaking before. Maybe you've only had friends and family judge your speaking and they haven't offered much in regards to what you should improve on.
