課程描述

During your IELTS examination, it is possible to encounter various essay prompts. Today's class will cover the formatting of the task one writing assignment and review the comparative pictures assessment used by IELTS. Included in the lesson are a sample grading rubric and image sets. We will orally cover these sets in class, taking turns to describe them. After the lesson, you may select one collection of pictures and create your own written assignment to send to me. I will grade and send back your essay with written comments for improvements.

You will learn how to accurately describe different situations and explain why they impact the community. We will work with vocabulary correction and understanding what IELTS examiners are looking for. You will have a better idea of the format of the essay from start to finish. Plus, you will receive individualized feedback on one essay you send me after class with comments and revisions to increase your score.

I have worked as a teacher for the past three years while developing my teaching skills through the completion of an MATESOL and enrolling in a doctoral degree in curriculum design and instruction. I have enjoyed working with a variety of ages, from children to adults. In addition to my master's degree, I also hold a teaching license from the state of Massachusetts (Grades 5-12) and have worked with the board of education in Japan for the past year.
