• The operation is successful.

今天想和大家聊一聊跟“吃”有关的一些有意思的说法。
吃我们都知道是“eat”的意思，吃饭，吃东西，吃药。你可能听过“我今天中午吃食堂”，这里指的是“在食堂吃午饭”。“小吃”就是snack，street food，比较简单的菜。“大吃大喝”，指的是“吃很多”，例如：春节期间，很多人每天都是大吃大喝。
这些词都跟吃东西有关，还有一些词不是真的吃东西。我们来看看。
【吃苦】苦是bitter的意思，例如“这杯咖啡很苦。”还有一个意思是“suffering，pain”。所以“吃苦”的意思就是“have a rough time”。例如“因为家里穷，他小时候吃了很多苦。”还有一个意思是”endure hardship“，例如“现在的年轻人生活条件太好了，很多都不能吃苦。”
【吃亏】亏是损失，loss，吃亏就是“suffer losses”。例如：不听老人言，吃亏在眼前。意思是：如果不听老人的建议，就会吃亏，会有不好的结果。
【吃瓜】吃瓜是一个网络流行语，这里的瓜是我们吃的“瓜子，sunflower seeds”。在戏院看戏的时候，边看边吃瓜子。后来“吃瓜”这个词用来表示发生什么八卦事件的时候，大家围观、八卦的状态。这些网友我们叫做“吃瓜群众”，而“瓜”则表示某个热点八卦事件。
【吃狗粮】狗粮本来的意思是狗吃的食物。在中文里面，我们经常开玩笑把单身的人叫做“单身狗”。一对情侣如果在一个单身狗面前表现得很甜蜜，我们叫做“秀恩爱”，也叫“撒狗粮”。意思是单身狗看到情侣这么甜蜜，很生气，气得吃不下饭或者气饱了。单身狗看到情侣这样甜蜜，就叫“吃狗粮”。
