みなさんは「できる」の意味を知っていますか？「できる」には英語のcanという意味があります。しかし、「ジブリパークができる」の「できる」は新しく建てられる、またはオープンするという意味です。ちなみにジブリパークは今年の11月1日にできるそうなので、興味がある人はインターネットで調べてみてください。

この「できる」を使って「近くに新しいコンビニができるらしいよ」とか、「高速道路ができてとても便利になった」と言うこともできます。

では、「友達ができた」というのはどういう意味でしょうか。これは新しく友達になった人がいるという意味です。「彼氏ができた」「彼女ができた」と言うフレーズはよく使います。
また、「ニキビができる」「ほくろができる」というのはあまりうれしくないことですね。これはニキビやほくろが新しく出てきたという意味です。

「できる」という表現は会話の中でとてもよく使います。ここで説明した以外の意味もありますが、それは次回説明したいと思います。
