A casi 40 años de la extinción de la fábrica Lilí Ledy es considerada una fábrica de culto en el mundo del juguete.

En 1977 los mexicanos estaban vueltos locos luego de ver la primera película de la Guerra de las galaxias. Niños, adolescentes y adultos de México querían tener cuanto antes los juguetes de la cinta de George Lucas, lo cual resultaba imposible si no se tenía un pariente en Estados Unidos o el presupuesto para viajar a ese país. Por fortuna, la fábrica mexicana de juguetes Lilí Ledy entró al rescate.

Hicieron un trato con sus colegas estadounidenses de Kenner Products para que les pasaran derechos, moldes de naves y figuras de acción de Star Wars a fin de fabricarlas en territorio nacional, y así ocurrió. El resultado fue que miles de chicos y grandes de Tijuana hasta Yucatán pudieron acceder a los juguetes de la saga intergaláctica a un buen precio y a una competitiva calidad.

Pero ésta no era la primera hazaña de Lilí Ledy, pues antes ya había hecho historia lanzado sus exitosas muñecas Belinda Lilí, Rosalinda Lilí, Carolinda Lilí y Leonora Lilí que operaban con mini discos alojados en su médula espinal que hacían posible que hablaran. La compañía patentó este sistema, lo que no evitó que unos jugueteros italianos lo copiaran bajo el nombre “Ozen” y lo implementaran para sus muñecas Sebino. 

Otro éxito para la compañía mexicana fue el lanzamiento de las sofisticadas muñecas Barbara y Señorita Lilí, una copia de las Barbie que habían dejado de venderse en México por un rompimiento de contrato por parte de Mattel. Se trató de otros los rescates de Lilí Ledy para que la infancia mexicana tuviera acceso a un juguete de moda en los Estados Unidos.   

A la par la compañía mexicana produjo el Horno Mágico Lilí Ledy, que con ayuda de un foco en su interior podía hornear pasteles hechos con harina Pronto.

Y antes, en 1966, fabricaron en territorio nacional un juguete que permitía crear a pluma figuras geométricas irreales...
