Sawasdee ka! I'm Cake. In this first episode, I'll explain why the word "ให้" (hâi) is about much more than just "giving" an object.

The Logic Equation:
[Action] + ให้ + [Receiver] = Doing something for someone.

Examples from the episode:

ตัดผมให้พ่อ (Tad-pom HAI Por) = Cutting hair for Dad.

ตัดผมให้ตัวเอง (Tad-pom HAI tua-eng) = Cutting hair for myself.

Think of it exactly like 「俾」(bei2).
Example: 幫爸爸剪髮 ➔ 剪髮「俾」爸爸。

こんにちは！Atsushiです。
昨日ポッドキャストをとれなかったので、今日2つとってアップロードします！

今日は、ぜいたくな時間、について。
私はコーヒーがある生活がとてもぜいたくだなと思いますので、その話をします。ぜいたくとは、luxuryですね。

先週は大阪と岡山へ行きました。
日本語教師の学校のテストや模擬授業、そして岡山ではボランティアをしていますので、それに行ってきました。そして、週末に北海道へ帰ってきました。

帰ってくると、もう1つの仕事のコーヒーのオーダーを何件かもらっていたので、日曜、月曜と焙煎をしています。
20年間、コーヒーショップで働いていましたが、その仕事では、コーヒーの焙煎をすることはありませんでした。大きな会社でしたので、焙煎されパッケージされたコーヒーが店に届きます。それを販売していました。

今は小さな機械をつかってコーヒーの焙煎をして、お客さまに送っています。焙煎をすると、家の中がコーヒーの香りでいっぱいになります。もしコーヒーの香りが好きでなければ大変だと思いますが、私はコーヒーが大好きなので、お客さまのコーヒーの焙煎をしながら、この香りを楽しんでいます。

そして、自分で焙煎したコーヒーを自分でハンドドリップをして飲む時は、本当にぜいたくな時間だなと思います。


人によってぜいたくだと感じる時間は違いますね。
とても良いホテルに泊まることや、
高い料理を食べること。
旅行で自分だけの時間を楽しむことや、
家族と何気ない時間を過ごすこと。
どれもいいと思います。

私にとっては、自分で焙煎したコーヒーを自分でハンドドリップをして飲む。ほとんどお金はかかりませんが、それが1番ぜいたくな時間だなと思います。
